Thousand turn out to say "No to Intervention!"

A successful event like the April Mobilization costs money. Donate online to help.

Highlighting six days of lobbying, conference, concerts, film showings, and more, the Latin America Solidarity Coalition brought over 1,000 people to the streets in a march to the World Bank/IMF on Sunday, April 13. Full March Report, view photos from the mobilization, read the mobilization writeup by Brendan O'Neil.

The mobilization started with a lobby day to close the U.S. Army School of the Americas/Western Hemisphere Institute for Security Cooperation.

On Friday, April 11, Latin America solidarity activists joined with union janitors in DC to demand fair working conditions and healthcare for workers. Read more about their struggle.

Later Friday, the Third Latin America Solidarity Conference kicked off with an amazing opening plenary session, including presentation by Vernon Bellacourt of the American Indian Movement, the Beehive Design Collective, Jen Cox from the Kensington Welfare Rights Union, and others.

The conference continued on Saturday with three rounds of workshops and a closing plenary.

"International solidarity is not an act of charity:
It is an act of unity between allies fighting on
different terrains toward the same objective.
The foremost of these objectives is to aid the
development of humanity to the highest level possible."
- Samora Machel (1933 - 1986)
Leader of FRELIMO,
First President of Mozambique
